Does anyone know where I can find a farmers' market other than something like Harry's??? I was looking more for a community sponsored group of local farmers who sell thier produce in a town square or other area. I haven't come across any since we moved here.

Thanks.

Check out this web site. It seems that there is one in downtown alpharetta.
Also, Duluth/Suwanee area has joined farmer market during the summer as well.

The only one I have seen that meets your criteria is on the downtown historic square of Lawrenceville in Gwinnett. I'm sure there are others.

Check localharvest.org. Never been, but it lists one in Marietta and Ashford-Dunwoody area on certain days.

East Atlanta Village has a very small (but growing) one in the village on Thrusday Evenings.

ALSO, if you go to the small shop by Star Provisions on the West Side of town there is someone who has opened up an organic fruit and veg stand. Left of the entrance to Star Provisions.

Have you tried Dekalb Farmer's Market in Decatur?

Does Harry's even exist anymore? They were bought out by Whole Foods I thought.

There's a Harry's on Roswell Road in Cobb County (near Roswell Road @ Powers Ferry Road). Last time I went by there it was still a Harry's.

Whole Foods did buy Harry's but they left the name on a few of the stores. I've never been in one so I don't know home much control Whole Foods has over the product lines in the store.

The Marietta Square Farmers Market is exactly what you are looking for. It is located just minutes from the East Cobb area in historic Marietta Square and runs every Saturday, 9am to noon, from May-December and features more than 50 local vendors.

Address:
50 Park Square
Marietta, GA 30060
