I am considering moving to peachtree corners (or maybe southern johns creek just across the chat river). i work in sandy springs at abernathy & 400. it looks like the best route from peachtree corners to work would be spalding dr to mt vernon rd. i'm worried about the commute because the roads are 2 lanes, and it would be about 10 miles.

does anybody know the commute time? would this be doable?

I think it'd probably take you about 20-25 minutes, depending on what part of Peachtree Corners you're in.

In high school I lived in western Peachtree Corners, near Holcomb Bridge and Spalding, and I used to commute to school on Ashford Dunwoody Rd. It took me about 20 minutes.

There will be traffic on these roads, but nothing major. In the mornings, Spalding was usually backed up in between Holcomb Bridge and Winters Chapel, but it moved pretty quickly.

One good thing is though the roads may be two lanes, there lots of alternative routes. For example, you could go Spalding --> Winters Chapel --> Peeler --> Tilly Mill --> Peeler --> Chamblee Dunwoody --> Ashford Center Pkwy --> Ashford Dunwoody --> Perimeter Center West.

The point is that there are many routes you can take, since you won't be confined to just a highway. Any commute that can be reasonably done on back roads with multiple options is never that bad.
