These were probably Amish kids raised without fathers in the home.....they are the ones doing most of the crimes all over the country.

When stuff like this happens then there IS a problem with safety on MARTA.

I can see this thread going downhill fast-so let me give my 2-cents before that. It was most likely gang related(initiation maybe), pick the easiest victim. I grew up in NY and took the subway since I was a kid-here's a few pointers to not be a victim 1. dont sit too close to the exits(I have seen criminals step into the train grab valuable or attack victim and step out 2. never sleep on the train(I see this so much on Marta). 3-Obvious-dont show your valuables. 4-Be aware of who's around you(I may be a little paranoid but I grew up in Brownsville, Brooklyn and can spot danger in a sec)-move away from possible danger. These punks probably saw that these were Delta employees by their uniforms/luggage and figured most likely they wouldn't have a weapon. I am sorry but I am not taking Marta at or after midnight without a weapon(And I am not a Marta hater-I take it everyday to work).

It's hard to say what MARTA is supposed to do, however. According to the news, there were two officers right there in the station when the mob got on board, but they can't arrest fare-paying customers for simply getting on a train.

MARTA needs cameras on their trains. That would be a great deterent to this type of crime.

You don't f'in say?

MARTA is receiving all sorts of bad press as of late in regards to violence.

Looks to me it is unsafe. Am I missing something?

Herd mentality at it's finest. It's too much peer pressure for anyone of these kids to stop and think about consequences. As to where are the parents...are you kidding me? Sadly these kids are likely from homes where the parents are absent or not even involved.

These mf's probably wouldn't be too hard to find. They were dumb enough to leave their calling card by chanting "B.F.P.L.". Just type it into google and see which MySpace and FaceBook accounts come up. It wouldn't shock me to have most of photos right there tagged in public.

I would have thought there was an 'Emergency' call/system on each train. Until further notification I will assume there is not.
