Since metro-Atlanta is so very large, I'm gonna say Andros Island, Bahamas.

I probably stay right where I am , in Cobb maybe go to a different west area or possibly east. Cobb nice and has a lot of good stores and such. Yes the crime has increased but where hasn't it. So no need to run.

Hate cities, I'm a country/suburbanite to the core. I go into the city to get what I need then I'm out.

100% renovated/restored house in...

1. Inman Park
2. Poncey-Highland
3. Candler Park
4. Grant Park
5. Historic West End (but must be old, large, stately home built before 1910).

...in that order.

Intown areas, especially eastside, has seen crime rates drop.

Where ever I could buy a 5000 sq ft, two story building and rezone it for residential living.

I would gut the entire building and upgrade all of the HVAC, electrical,etc...

It would be one of the coolest modern lofts to ever grace the pages of Dwell magazine.

1st floor--office, storage, gym

2nd floor--living space

(I would attach a garage if the property has the space)

Downtown East Point.

Right across the street from the MARTA station.

Feels rather European.

You can't beat island life! I've always envied Eleanor Torrey "Sandy" West, who was the doyenne of the largest privately owned island in the world. Still alive in Savannah at age 103.
