Atlanta and Charlotte have always been on the top of my relocation list. I'm interested in a nice, safe area in the Atlanta area. I do not want to look over my shoulder everytime I leave and enter my home. I am looking to rent first and buy later. I either work from home or travel so the commute is not an issue. My children are 22, 15 and 4 so something for "fun" for each would be great! If more information is needed please advise! If you could also advise which areas to stay away from along with nice areas it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

First thing you need to do is secure a job first. It's extremely important and I wouldn't make the move without one! I'm from Buffalo and the commutes are much easier if you live relatively close to your job (or on the Marta line). As far as neighborhoods/areas are concerned, you'd need to indicate your budget as the "nicer" areas tend to cost more than the "not so nice" areas. Personally, I don't like anything on the East side: Stone Mountain, Decatur, Tucker etc...but that's a personal preference. Do you know anyone down here whom you can visit so you can get a feel for the city?

You and your children will have more fun in Atlanta. I'm from Rochester, NY and lived in Charlotte from 2008-2010 and was bored out of my mind there. I now live in Atlanta and love it here.
