Not to be nitpicky but the magnificent mile is in Chicago, not miracle mile.

I'm okay with the name if they brand it as being sort of a gateway into Buckhead (i.e. a sign reading Buckhead, Atlanta). Maybe their looking at the bigger picture and are wanting this to be a new town center of sorts that will be built around and eventually connected with the BFD?

That is about the stupidest name I have ever heard. How about Buckhead Avenues, Irby Village, the Streets of Buckhead was fine with me to begin with, not a good marketing move at all.

My thought exactly; extremely ordinary and unimaginative.

We've been waiting.......Looks like another bland development instead of something truly world class. Sorry, renderings could be for anywhere.

Oh, I agree, but lets just wait for the finished product, although I might be 6 feet under by then>>>>>>>

The sad part is that renderings often look better than the finished product. Rarely does a development end up actually looking better than the sketchings, so it seems.

I am surprised at how much controversy and negativity the redevelopment of a few blocks of down-at-the-heels retail on Peachtree has generated. This is the sort of thing that big cities do all the time.

Unfortunately we were hammered by a massive recession just as many projects were getting underway, leaving us with stalled developments all up and down Peachtree. (I'm thinking North Ave., 10th, 14th, 17th, and so on). I'll just be glad to see cranes moving anywhere in the city.
