The renderings are awesome. This could be what Atlanta needs. How far is this from Lennox and Phipps malls? The one thing that Michigan Ave has going for it is there are no competing regional malls. They've incorporated Water Tower Place and Shoppes at Northbridge into the district.

Imho, the worse thing urban planners can do is place a suburban style mall in the middle of a city and then try to build an urban district to compete with it. Hopefully they will be able to have the Buckhead Atlanta compliment the area. If they do it will not be on the scale of The Magnificent Mile.

I love it. But I think you left out "Ye Olde."

I'd like to see an ordinance requiring marketing persons who come up with these dumb names to perform 1,000 sit-ups in the public square for every extra "e" and "p."

Excuse me, but who said it was? You entirely missed the point. Every city has a history, some longer than others. They are all in a process of evolution; Atlanta is no exception. Two hundred years ago, it was a different game on this planet; in another two hundred, it will be again.

If the name isn't changed I wonder what nickname everyone will start calling the development. Because I don't envision anyone saying "I'm going to shop at 'Buckhead Atlanta' "

I'm glad they didn't choose some contrived name. They aren't intending this to be a situation like today, where shopping in Buckhead means "I'm going to Phipps/Lenox." If you need to tell someone specifically where you'll be, just say Buckhead Village. I'm sure they'll be able to figure it out.
I think they're doing the right thing by trying to make the development a seamless part of the community as opposed to an island. It appears that they are tweaking the plans to make the development much more of a pedestrian experience.

I think people will simply refer to it as Buckhead like they do now.

I like this idea as it almost guarantees quick access to year round Steak on a Stake.

They should build something like this down by the airport and call it Tha Skreetz of ColliPark.

I totally agree.

The last thing this project needs is another blunder. I view this name change as a mistake. It's apparent this project has more problems than just the financial ones. How many times are they going to drop the ball?

Maybe Tony and Pat Pope should finish this project.

The name is not going to make or break the project. Tenant mix and design will.
