They caught one in Dacula the other day, too.

They are clearly fleeing the central city.

It is surprising these two alligators are here at this time of the year. Over the many years I've lived here, there's been previous alligator sightings. But I can't recall any sightings in the spring. There may have been spring sightings but I can't recall them.

Just a couple of weeks ago, temperatures were in the low 40s. And it's possible temperatures may have been in the upper 30s near that lake. Temperatures were in the upper 30s north of Atlanta. Once you get out of the Atlanta heat island, temperatures can really drop.

Maybe these alligators were pets and just recently released into the lake? If they're not former pets, I do wonder how these alligators survived during this recent cold weather. As far as I know, they're cold-blooded animals.

Alligators reproductive systems seem to be strange. I have read where the sex of the alligator is determined by the temperature of the egg. It's a male if it's a certain temperature, and it's a female if it's a different temperature.

I hope these alligators haven't been dumb enough to mate.

@arjay I think it's kinda funny how your graph has half alligators heehee
I hope people's pets don't start dissapearing. I can't imagine these gators are getting the food they are use to.

girlenigma, I just rounded up to the nearest whole alligator.

I know what you mean about pets, though. Those things will eat anything they can get their chompers on.

Fifi? Oh, Fifi? Where are ....

They get in basements, too. Lots of basements. And the babies can come up through your pipes and nest under the sink, or maybe in a closet or the attic.
