That leads me even more to believe that plessthanpointohfive's county appraisal was an error.

If you determine that nearby sales and the change classifying your unit as a duplex shouldn't have led to such a decline in value, I would both appeal to DeKalb County and notify City of Atlanta, since 80% of your property taxes go to Atlanta. If DeKalb doesn't do anything to help you, I still think Atlanta would be very interested to know that they are being shortchanged revenue.

Surprisingly low property values create questions in DeKalb *| ajc.com

As a DeKalb taxpayer, who saw no change in our assessment and who faces a 4.5 mil increase based on what appears to be at least some faulty data, this makes me mad.

I am so over the gross incompetence that continues to be DeKalb.
