You're more likely to meet an Indian from Kenya or Tanzania than South Africa in the US. I'm Indian and my aunt and uncle actually lived in Kenya and Tanzania and one of my cousins was born in Kenya. One of my cousins actually married a young lady who came from a wealthy Indian family in Kenya. Just about every other Indian that I know who's from Africa was from either Kenya or Tanzania.

There are Indian South Africans in Cobb. One family comes to mind, so I'm not sure how many are in that county or the Atlanta area. Maybe there's a South African restaurant or association in metro Atlanta. I'd start there.

There are also a lot of Indians from the Caribbean here in the area (and spread throughout the US, of course).

Trinidad, Guyana, etc.

^Really? Are they kinda ghetto? Indo-Caribs kinda have a reputation for being uncultured and somewhat vulgar in the Indian community.

I never thought my west Indian friends to be ghetto...nor do they have any reputation within my family (east Indian). That said, most of them consider themselves Caribbean first, then Indian, so I think it may matter not.

Oh vey! One of my good friends is Indo-Trinidadian and she is anything but uncouth. Although I did know an Indo-Guyanese guy who was born in the states who was actually quite ghetto. I guess these things are individually determined.
