Hopefully this really is a signal in a change of thinking. To me, this is one of the most important quotes in the article:

"Mike Bodker, mayor of Johns Creek in Fulton County, said the region needs to sell transit as improving the quality of life for everyone — those who would ride transit and those who would want others to ride transit so there would be less traffic."

That is a great point, and one I don't see being made a lot. You don't have to ride transit to benefit from it. Having other people ride it is also a benefit b/c almost everyone on a train is one less person on the roads.

More to the point: I will vote NO on the tax if there isn't a significant rail component. I realize roads need work, but we already have a tax structure in place for road/highway improvement. The whole point of this tax is to bring a more comprehensive transit plan on board.
Same here, for all the reasons you stated. I will never vote for a tax increase that props up road projects while ignoring rail.

Like the plan as it helps address most of the major traffic spots in the Metro.

The name I like in theory, but I wonder if it will suffer the same fate as MARTA's yellow line. I kiiiiid.
