We are coming to ATL for the weekend. Got tix to the Braves and also want to go to The World of Coke. I would love to be able to walk or ride a metro to both and avoid driving/parking downtown. What hotels offer a shuttle to games? What hotels are right on the metro? Have never been to ATL except the airport, so need help. Thanks!!

There are lots of hotels that you can get close to MARTA that you can walk to a station or they will shuttle you. What price range/brand of hotel are you looking for.

You will have lots of options near Perimeter Mall, Buckhead (Lenox Mall), Midtown (Arts Station) or you can stay at an airport hotel and catch MARTA from there. There are options near other stations as well.

What area of Atlanta do you want to be in when not doing the attractions?

I'd like to stay under $120 for a hotel. We will only be needing it for one night. Brand of hotel doesn't matter, just want some place halfway decent and safe. We are only planning on the ballgame & World of Coke. Maybe the airport area would be best?

The airport will be the shortest ride. What direction will you be traveling from. If you are coming from the south then stay at the airport, if from the north I would recommend Perimeter area.

If this is a weekend, you should get a nice rate below $120

Stay at the Marriott Residence Inn - Midtown on W Peachtree for $109 ($19 for overnight parking but you won't have to use your car once you get there). It is a block from the Midtown MARTA station which will take you to the Braves shuttle at Five Points and you can also get off at Peachtree Center or Civic Center to walk to World of Coke at Centennial Park. While staying in Midtown, you can walk to Piedmont Park and Botanical Gardens, the High Museum, and numerous restaurants with outdoor seating. The Residence Inn is two blocks north of Publix and Mac's Beer and Wine for food and drink, and the hotel is two blocks off the Interstate for easy access. Check out Atlanta PlanIt - The source of information for arts and culture in metro Atlanta for other cultural offerings this weekend - Atlanta has much more to offer than just the Braves and Coke.

If you have children (or even if you don't), you'd likely enjoy the aquarium which is next door to the World of Coke.

Thanks for all the help! We will be coming from the Charlotte area. I know ATL has a lot more to offer, but we won't be there that long to explore. Is the MARTA a subway/lightrail? Or is it buses only?
