Hello,
I will be visiting Atlanta this weekend from Toronto, Canada. I'd like to know the best outlet malls in the region. I'm mostly looking for clothing.

Thanks folks.

Darren

I personally recommend North Georgia Premium Outlets, located in Dawsonville. Just drive north on GA-400 until you see it. I think its also the closest one to the city.

There are other outlets located on I-85 I-75, but I prefer North Georgia Premium outlets because of the location and selection of stores.

I would second this. The J Crew store up there has really good deals every time I go there and the store selection overall is pretty solid.

I'd agree - North Georgia Premium Outlets is my favorite. I live about 20 min away so it's quite tempting!

There's also Discover Mills in Lawrenceville, and a couple of Tanger Outlets, but I haven't had great luck in either place.

Another vote for North Georgia Premium Outlets!

You can also find great clothes for amazing prices at the Neiman Marcus outlet "Last Call" at Discover Mills in Lawrencevile (North on I-85).

Are you driving or flying to Atlanta?

I think I like Edinburgh Premium Outlets (in Indiana, just south of Indianapolis) better than the two in Georgia.

I think North Georgia Premium Outlet gets the vote since its only an hour away from Atlanta. @Brian, I'll be flying so I don't think I can make it to Indianapolis. Thanks anyways.

The NOrth Georgia Premium Outlets are the best. Be sure to go to their website and sign up for the free "VIP" club where you can print out coupons. Or get a VIP coupon book at the visitors center in the food court. Also, holiday weekends such as Memorial Day, Fourth of July, etc. offer the very best deals with additional percentage off at many stores. Some of the stores such as Ralph Lauren will email you coupons for more discounts.

But, beware because many of the stores are sell clothing that is made for the outlets and never sold in the stores.

True, but this can be a plus or a minus, depending on your point of view. It's a minus, of course, if what you're looking for is discounts on the items sold at the regular mall.

On the other hand, my teen daughter reliably finds more clothes she likes at The Gap at North Ga. Premium Outlets than she does at The Gap at NorthPoint Mall. The outlet store's offerings seem a little less fashion-forward, more middle-of-the-road, and this actually suits her taste better.
