One benefit of this whole thing is that awful sketchy parking lot under the Connector will be turned into the maintenance and storage facility for the vehicles. This will also give a leg up to future extensions to the streetcar (read: the Beltline), which won't need to build brand new, redundant facilities. I've been dismayed at the mega-facilities present on other streetcar networks, occupying very valuable urban land. Good to have ours tucked under the interstate on a plot that's good for little else.

Im really excited about this project!

Here are a few examples where this has actually worked and helped spur billions of dollars of development, especially in real estate.

Do we know what, if any, the estimated fare will be? I hope it will connect with the Marta breeze card.

Been a LONG TIME coming...

Yet, I haven't seen any construction yet... Where should I be looking? I've looked around those streets on the map...

Can anyone post pictures, because I'm no longer in town?

To me it seems like this project has been moving at light speed (okay, neutrino speed) for a rail project.

It wasn't approved until a year ago.

This would be 1%, MARTA wants another 1%, so end result Atanta would be 10% by the time it is done.
I lived in Birmingham and that is the most taxed city. 10.5% sales tax and an occupational tax to live in Jefferson County. Atlanta has by far better transit, schools, and roads. Plus the cost of living is not much higher, other than in Alabama grocery get charged the full amount of sales tax. So what is an extra 1% to help relieve traffic congestion. For those of who who vote no in July, I don't ever want to hear about how awful traffic is.
