If you walk, get a map and do the back streets through the neighborhood. It is shorter than staying on main roads and very scenic

we just got back last week and had a blast with our 3 yr old. We did the world of coke ( it was ok... )
Aquarium was AMAZING , the zoo was great, love the fact that they a kids section with a playground and merry go round. Def. get the city pass ! if you are there on a weekend the lines will be CRAZY and you can bypass them with city pass tickets and you will save some $$$. We didn't get to go to the Children's Museum but my friend says its wonderful. I figured we would save something for when we move ! Lol
We stayed Midtown at the Regency hotel but drove every where... the zoo seemed kind of out of the way but I guess you can take a train or cab.
And def take bathing suits and change of clothes daily... the fountains are so refreshing and FUN !
Enjoy your trip :-)

Sweet Auburn Barbecue —also kids eat free on Tuesdays (call to confirm that they still do this).
Highland Ave - Sweet Auburn Barbecue

There are no “kids meals” at Eats, but you can always split a meal at Eats—just order a chicken with three sides and an extra cornbread/garlic bread and you should be set (it’s kind of divey, but is still great for kids and adults—if divey places don’t bother you). If your kid does not do slightly spicey stick with the barbecue or lemon chicken, instead of the jerk—and ask for an extra plate.

Welcome to Eats | Eats Restaurant

You might try the Magestic when it is not busy (they pack folks too close for toddlers during busy times). Not really one of our favorites—it is sort of a greasy-spoon diner that has been polished a little too much for me.

These are all great suggestions. It will be hot in August, bring a portable stroller in case your little one gets tired so you will be able to carry your stuff and carry some water.

Pay the extra money to see the Dolphin show at the aquarium. It is not included in your base ticket but is worth the extra money and you will need to register ahead of time.
