Three of the eight top tourist destinations are historic places. This is probably not a big surprise for anyone who knows about Heritage Tourism (http://www.preservationnation.org/issues/heritage-tourism/ - broken link), but the fact that roughly $6 Billion of Georgia's annual tourist spending average of $20 billion is spent on heritage sites should not be overlooked. I beg to differ. Unless you can give me some stats to back that up, I would encourage you to go to Savannah and see if you can avoid any Atlanta area cars on the road. Atlanta invests HUGE in Savannah. I'm quite sure it would be feasible.
