I'm curious as to why. If they'll continue to have a presence in Atlanta, might as well keep it all here. Guess the bright lights of Columbus Ohio is just too alluring.

My guess would be walkability and transit plus lower taxes and less government regulation.

Didn't Wendy's start somewhere up there?

Columbus isn't bad. University of Ohio is there, so it is actually more vibrant / walkable than you might think.

Wendys is originally from Dublin Ohio, a suburb of Columbus and they still have offices up there (their original HQ building). They certainly are not moving to Ohio for lower taxes. In fact most of the reason for so many companies relocating to the Atlanta area from the midwest are the tax incentives and friendlier business climate the area offers

Arjay, do you just make this stuff up out of nowhere? No offense, but some of the things you post on here are opposed to reality and facts.

Walkability:
Atlanta has a city-wide "walk score" of 52.9, while Columbus is 47.4.

Transit:
Columbus is the largest city in the US with no rail transit (they don't even have an Amtrak station). Only about 2.2% of people in Columbus take transit to work (buses), while in Atlanta more than 14% take transit.

Lower taxes:
The Tax Foundation (a conservative-leaning group) lists Ohio as the 39th best state for corporations in terms of business taxes, while Georgia is the 8th best.

Wow, talk about a reverse move. I suppose Ohio is exacting revenge for NCR...kind of.

I never liked those steamed hamburgers anyway. And their fries aren't too good either.
