I added a second loop around the metro area ... something to think about in 2050 lol! This loop added up to be about 420 miles total and would make Atlanta metro area dominate Northern Georgia

Future I-485 and I-875 (2040) - Google Maps

You do realize I-485 is the outerloop around Charlotte....

It doesn't matter. You can have duplicates like that as long as they're not in the same state. Just like how there is a 675 both here and in Dayton, Ohio.

Man these two loops would encourage sprawl like nothing this country has ever seen! But by 2050, there might be a need for them anyway if trends continue. Le sigh....

Wouldn't GA20 be a good route for a Northern Arc? This is needed very much right now. Those poor 3 million northern residents with no freeway to travel amongst.

I wonder what caused all of the existing sprawl since loops are deemed the utimate sprawl catalysts.

im against building highways. concentrate on building a stonger center with better public tranportaion. promoting even more car use is something that cannot be sustained.
