Except for Opal, of course. I was amazed to read recently that Opal was not downgraded to a tropical storm until she reached Tennessee.

I can believe it. I remember lying in my bed listening to the wind howl, and then the quiet when the eye passed over, then it started up again in the other direction. It was so bizarre to be 300 miles inland listening to a freaking hurricane! Opal was the worst, but even Katrina took the top of a maple tree we'd just paid a fortune for. I was sure it would die, but it survived.
