Hello,
I've read through several threads and feel we have a good place to start.
1. Budget - Renting first, possbily for a year or two
2. House/Condo/Townhome? - House for sure
3. Employment Status(commute/work from home) - Commute
4. Children(public school vs. private) - Public, but would entertain private too if it is within the budge(Children's ages are Boys 14, 11 and Girls 8, 5, 3)
5. Suburban or Urban lifestyle preference or a mix of the two: Suburban
6. Easy access to public transit, important or not? not important
7. Preferable demographics of desired neighborhood. SAFE, Good Schools

My office is in Duluth off I-85

I've read enough to think that Duluth is not the best place to live.
I hear Roswell is the best, but that seems a bit to far (with traffic).

Thoughts?

Check out Johns Creek and Suwanee. Both are very desirable, excellent schools and close proximity to Duluth and I-85. You did not mention a budget.

Roswell is only one of many best place to live in Atlanta.

Budget is up to 250, I think with the housing market in GA why would we pay more?
I'll be living in Lawrenceville with a friend for a few months before my wife and family move down with me.

Lawrenceville doesn't have the best rated schools on greatshools.org

While you are here, you can spend time looking around. My husband was here for nearly two years and I sent him all over Atlanta with neighborhoods to look at.

You are probably looking at the Central Gwinnett cluster, which is not bad. However, there are much strong clusters in Lawrenceville. For the best proximity I would look at the Peachtree Ridge, Collins Hill, and Brookwood High clusters. All are very close to Duluth and are top notch school districts.
