Anyone know why the Pollo Loco on cobb pkwy in Marietta/atlanta closed down? I droveby on Tuesday and saw the place boarded up. They seem to have gotten okay business. They did have their 2.99 special on Tuesday. Maybe that made them go broke or the health codes. Anyone know?

The one in Lithonia closed a few months back as well. Guess, the market just wasn't ready for them yet.

Sad news. Not many places you can order chicken or a burrito.

Sad, I've visited them a few times but they never really stuck out in my mind. They had some decent food. I did find prices went up quite a bit. The Tuesday deal was good.

It sounds like Pollo Loco in Atlanta has had issues for a while:

The one on Dallas Hwy in Marietta closed down a while ago. Maybe as long ago as two years now. I tried it once, and it was a crappy version of Taco Bell with everything made with chicken.

They were a grade higher than taco bell. Their chicken wasn't a mixture of dog food. In a few years their menu changed drastically.

I ate there twice and the food was average at best.

The El Pollo Loco in Hiram colsed down and they replaced it with a Bojangles. The Bojangles appears to have larger crowds.

If you miss Pollo Loco, then check out Pollo Campero. They have a similar menu to Pollo Loco, but I think their food is better. They have several locations around the metro. We go to the Norcross one occasionally and it always seems pretty busy.
