I live in Morrow and I love it. Bought a house here almost 2 years ago. The mall could use some more stores but it still isnt that bad not that bad. The location to me is ideal in regards to the airport and Atlanta. Besides I'm eager to see how Clayton county will look years from now.

I don't see how this could happen due to Southlake having 90% occupancy.

I'm sorry I should have said different stores. I love Express and New York and Company but how many urban clothing stores does Southlake need?

Charming Charlies would be nice but I'm not sure if that would ever happen.

My wife is still mourning the loss of J. C. Penny's. The Macy's and Sear's are decent; they are not Lenox Square, but then again neither is Cumberland, Town Center, or Stone Crest. We also like Children's Place (we have three children elementary and pre-school age.) Some other national retailers would be nice though. That said, even with only three anchors, Southlake is busy. Gwinnett Place would kill to even have Southlake's stores and shopping crowds (more like hordes on certain weekends.) Maybe when/if the train comes it will inspire the owners to bring more National Chains back.

Store Directory :: Southlake Mall :: Morrow, GA
There's not necessarily a lack of national stores at Southlake.

I like the variety of stores, it gives the mall personality, something places like Cumberland and Perimeter are missing.

Cumberland I understand, but Perimeter? They have a fantastic cross-section of stores, with something for everyone.

I don't go there regularly, but I hear it's almost all national chains.

It is, but local stores have a hard time paying rent in really successful malls.

Get off the beaten path (especially the Tara Boulevard/ 19/41 corridor) and drive through the neighborhoods. Eat at Anne and Bill's in downtown Forest Park (good southern cooking), Walk the Morrow Trail system or Jester's Creek Trail, check out the clearance racks at Macy's, Southlake Mall, get fresh seasonable vegetables at the State Farmer's Market in Forest Park, have a conversation with a Clayton neighbor at Clayton County International Park. You will probably will wind up saying, "Hey! This place is not half bad; in fact I like this place!"
I didn't know about the farmers market. I gotta check it out soon
