If Atlanta is to be seen as a world-class city, it's going to take more than the staid status quo that has been in power since the 1970s.

He's a good mayor if you live below I-20.

What are you, the thread Nazi?

No, actually you pretty much insinuated that Kasim Reed had his hand in the cookie jar. Dont back off of it now. Stick by what you said. I think you actually used the term "political buddies" in reference to those who got the contracts. Not going to sit here and tell you that a concession contract that is good for 10 years and worth collectively almost $400 million a year is completely above board because I doubt it is. But don't just throw Kasim name in the mix just because. Most of the people who got the contracts already had gotten contracts there in the past. Like one of the biggest winners in all this, HMS Host, has been at HJIA for years, along with pretty much every other major airport in the country and Europe too, the contract they have at LAX dwarfs the little money they got from HJIA. They more than likely got the contract because they actually have the ability to fulfill the contract and meet the demands of one of the busiest airports in the world. And like I said in my first post, Airport contracts are handled by the Dept. of Aviation, not by Procurement at City Hall like most contracts within Atlanta are. And coming from a former city employee, trust me when I say that the Dept. of Aviation is in it's own world. They don't even go to City Hall, City Hall goes to them. They have a very nice complex down by the airport and they are very much self contained. And if you want to call somebody out on the carpet for cronyism, call the Holier than thou Mormon guy who runs Aviation.

LOL...I love this.
You do realize that a good bit of the worst areas in the city of Atlanta are actually north if I-20 don't you?

I didn't insinuated it, I think the news agencies and the people who went to court and the news agencies revealing who worked for and contributed to Reed in the past insinuated it. And it looks like the judge giving everyone 10 days to put up or shut up is trying to get to the bottom of it.
