My husband might be getting a job in Duluth. We live in a very wealthy and upscale area in New Jersey now. Can you tell me some of the nicest area's to live in. I am specifically looking for great schools, nice homes, great high-end shopping, low-crime...basically the whole package which is what I have here. I don't want his commute to be too long and i really don't want to move. I really have a great lifestyle and just want to continue it We are really looking for the nicest area. We are also Jewish and would like to be in area where there are other jews too.
Thanks for your help.

John's Creek and Suwanee are two areas that you should be able to find both of those things.

thanks...this is just really hard for me because I don't want to move at all. I have 2 young kids and have such a great life here. I have a huge circle of friends and we are so close to Phila and we spend our whole summer at our beach house at the Jersey shore. I am so lucky and don't want to leave it.

I would say the Johns Creek area too as well. That's where we are focusing. We are in the same position as you as well. We are making several trips down and being very cautious not to make a mistake since we don't want to move again. We are looking into Duluth and Alpharetta in Johns Creek area. Zip codes 30097 and 30022. Schools that feed into Chatahoochee and Northview High Schools. Some neighborhoods in particular are St. Ives Country Club, Country Club of the South, Falls of Autry Mill etc. There are two synagogues in this area. One in Duluth and one in Alpharetta. Hope this helps. I am not an expert but our situations are similiar it seems and this is where the research has led us to look. Good Luck.

These areas are actually near a few different synagogues, but they are all different affiliations. To find the right synagogue for you try going to www.ShalomAtlanta.org and you can get a list of local synagogues.

Sugarloaf Country Club in Duluth. A lot of professional athletes and corporate executives live there.

How do you feel about private schools? Depending on the type (Jewishness) of community you are living in, you may be more comfortable living more close in and utilizing a Jewish Day School.

The Fulton County side of Dunwoody is full of families who do this.

I would very much recomend you look in to this Jewish Community Center Chabad Enrichment Center of Gwinnett. I have been there many times and the people are wonderful.
