My family and I are relocating early next year to Atlanta. We have 3 kids one in middle school, one in high school and one in elementary so schools are very important. We were looking at Marietta or Gwinnett county. I'm really liking Marietta. Any advice a is welcome

Marietta and Gwinnett are on extreme opposite ends of metro Atlanta. First start with where you will be working.

If you're looking for public schools, stay within the East Cobb area. Schools are highly rated and the community is great. But it all depends on how much of a commute you are willing to put up with?

Personally, I'd see about securing employment, at least for one of you, before making a move. If no one is working, no telling how long it will take to come up with something - the job market is not real swift out here!

That would also probably be a deciding factor on where to live. Some commutes can be brutal!

Agreed, this is one thing everyone will always tell you here. Try to get an idea of what part of town you will be working in before planning where to live.

If you decide to move to Cobb and then get a job at the airport, you are going to be kicking yourself.

If you cannot start your job search until you move, then set something up short term rather than getting into a long lease.
