Long story short.....

Moving to Georgia this summer, working at a local hospital. Interested in renting for the 1st year($1800 max 3 bedroom)

What is important to me

Safety
Great schools
Shopping and restaurants locally
Parks
Activities for children
Family oriented

I don’t frequent the city(Atlanta) except for occasional events.

Areas I’m interested in..

Kennesaw
Acworth
Hiram
Dallas
Woodstock

Not opposed to tryin other areas.

Thanks in advance

IMPORTANT QUESTION:

Which local hospital in the Atlanta area will you be working at?

Cobb County is a good option if you will working in an area that is relatively easily accessible from Cobb County in Atlanta's very heavy metropolitan traffic.

Then areas like Kennesaw, Acworth, Marietta and Powder Springs are good areas to look within Cobb County.

Woodstock is a good area to look within Cherokee County.

The North Paulding High School cluster area of Dallas is a good area to look within Paulding County.

Hiram is an okay area to look within Paulding County, but the schools in the Hiram area (in the clusters of schools anchored by Hiram and East Paulding high schools along with the clusters of schools anchored by Paulding County High School in the Dallas area) are in the middle-of-the-pack quality wise and are not rated as highly as the schools are in Cobb and Cherokee counties and in the North Paulding HS cluster of Paulding County.

You might want to put Marietta on the list.
I think Dallas might be a bit far out and not as strong on your want list compared to the others.
I live in north Marietta about a mile south of Woodstock. I think it fills all you needs. I drive to Kennesaw a few times a week for lunch and shopping.

The OP will not only be working at WellStar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta but will also be working at WellStar Paulding Hospital which is located at the junction of Highways 278-6 and 120-360 at the western edge of the Hiram area near Dallas... Which is likely why the OP has listed Dallas as an area of interest.

Is Acworth a nice area in general or does it have it pockets?

The Dallas, Georgia mailing area (which is pretty large in geographical size) is actually immediately adjacent to the WellStar Paulding Hospital to the west... Though some parts of the Dallas mailing area (like the North Paulding High School area up in the very northern end of the Dallas mailing area) can be as far as a 25-minute one-way drive to and from WellStar Paulding Hospital which is at the very western edge of the Hiram mailing area.

The North Paulding High School area (which is the area of the highest-rated schools in the Dallas mailing area) is about a 35-minute one-way drive to and from WellStar Kennestone Hospital in near-North Marietta.
