My family will be relocating to the Atlanta area next August. I've been looking online and it looks like the cost of living is comparable to the Raleigh-Durham (NC) area.

We are a young family ready to relocate to an area that can offer all the amenities of a large city w/out all the hustle and bustle (or at least not as much).

I need some insight on the school districts in areas surrounding Metro-ATL. I've looked on the dept. of public education website and saw the report cards on the schools but I would like to hear from the parents. We are looking in the Fayetteville area because a relative said that school district was good.

Please help!!

Well it really depends on your price range and where you and/or spouse will be working. Traffic can be bad here as in most big cities. There are many places like what you describe as desirable. With more info I think you will get a plethora of responses!

Well I will be relocating with my current company which has an office in Decatur, downtown, and Fayetteville. We'd prefer to be outside of the city and a family member told us Fayetteville has good schools....but she doesn't have kids!!

We will be renting an apartment for a short time to get a fill of the new area before we buy and we're looking to pay no more than $1350.

We're 30yrs old and we want an area that's safe yet can offer us some excitement at the same time. We're a laid back family and can handle diversity. I don't do well with hard core southern rednecks though.

We'll be relocating summer '08 so we wanted to get a heads up on areas we need to focus on when we visit in Nov. Any help will be appreciated.
