Survey: Public?s opinion of downtown is rising - Atlanta Business Chronicle (Paid article)

Basically it's saying more people are thinking downtown Atlanta is a safer place than before. 69% say it's very safe or somewhat safe, compared to 61% in 2002 and only 55% in 1996.

I think getting to the 70-75% mark would be excellent, and perhaps would convince a developer to invest into the area. I also think the streetcar will most certainly help as well.

If we can get Marta to do something about Five Point Marta station I think that would have a huge impact as well.

Downtown is just fine. Good God, the panhandlers may be annoying but they aren't dangerous. Basically that's about it.

That may be true, but people usually associate that type of crowd with a bad and ignored part of town, which typically is the case to be honest.

Still alot of robberies Downtown at Georgia State so I wouldn't so sure about that

Yes and even more around Georgia Tech especially in the Home Park area.

So the Atlanta Business Chronicle hires a survey group to survey the thoughts on downtown......their very own paid for independent sponsor........yeah.....I'm sure it was completely legit.....
