I have found that some of parts 0f decutar are good some are bad.
I would like to know which parts are good. Also High School,Middle SchooL and University. What companies are in or near Decutar For Electrical Engineering or electronic Technicians. Are there any IATSE Locals?
Tell me about Transportation Buses and Train.

City of Decatur is the part people rave about. The City is very small compared to the general area that is called Decatur.

Just so you know, Decatur is part of the Metro Atlanta area. You'll get tons more responses if you ask about Decatur in the "Atlanta" forum and not the "Georgia" forum.

Please note - like the other posting have emphasized - there is the City of Decatur and then Decatur. The City of Decatur is a city within a City. In other words, it has its own school system, police department, fire, etc. Check out the City of Decatur's website at City of Decatur, GA It's about about 4 miles in size. You would pay City of Decatur taxes and DeKalb County taxes too.

The "other" Decatur is also in DeKalb County but you have no access to the City of Decatur's school system unless you pay and if there is room available. Decatur is a big geographical location and they are two very different areas in home prices/values.

Technically, it's a City within a County.

Do you pay Dekalb county and city of Decatur taxes? I figured it was just city taxes...what services does Dekalb county offer to the citizens of Decatur?

Yes, you'd pay both. I'm not sure which services the county provides since I don't live there, but I would guess the county takes care of the roads and sewers, among other things.

The vast majority of taxes go to the City in Decatur, and residents pay a very small, heavily reduced portion of DeKalb taxes. I believe that our tax bill is about 7K per year and only about 800 of that is county.

I would guess that the county maintains roads? Police, fire, zoning, building permits and schools are provided by the City.
