According to the Great Schools site, the high schools (Cherokee, Sequoya, Woodstock) are all rated well and I guess Creekview HS is too new to be rated?? Can I get some feedback from those in the know regarding the high schools? We are looking to relocate to the area next summer and need to find a good school for my ninth grade son. Are the schools crowded? Are they safe? etc. Appreciate your help!!!

Cherokee Schools are very overcrowded with absolutely no relief in sight.

Overcrowding may bring busing, year-round school, in Cherokee | ajc.com (broken link)

Default Beware of Transferring a High School Student into the Cherokee

We love our daughters schools and teachers, we come from Fairfax County, the number one ranked school system in the country.

Cherokee County handicaps transfer students by heavily weighting honors and AP courses but refused to honor their own written policy and weight transfer students honors and AP courses. This makes it virtually impossible to compete for award, earn an academic scholarship, get accepted to a top tier college, even difficult to get accepted to a middle tier school.

If your child will spend all four years at Creekview I can highly recommend it, especially for the true academics, if you are transferring in with a high performing child, who took honors and AP in another county or state, they will suffer.
