Hello, I am thinking about relocating my family into Avondale Estates. We really like all the ammenities there and the charter school as well. The lower neighborhood, Avonwood, has large houses at a significantly lower price than the historic district homes to the north. Aside from being a little further walk from the Pool/Park/Restaurants, is there a downside to living down in the Avonwood part of the city? The houses are less than half as much money!

Thanks for any info!!

The charter school admission is by lottery only. Do you already have children? school age? If so, you might want to call and find out about enrollment opportunities.

My kids are still a couple years away from starting school. And yes, I know it is a lottery. I know we need to be able to budget for private school in case they don't get in. That is one reason I am interested in the lower cost housing in Avonwood.
