I know it isn't all in the Smyrna city limits, but the drive up Atlanta Road from 285 to the well designed and very successful downtown revival (not just a revitalization, but a rebirth from being totally dead) is one of the nicest thoroughfares/entrances to a city in all of metro Atlanta.

South Cobb Drive is not the shiniest commercial drive in the metro area, but is similar to many scattered around from the same time period just OTP: Cobb Parkway, Roswell Road (in tony Sandy Springs no less) Peachtree Industrial and Buford Highway in North DeKalb, Memorial Drive in central DeKalb, just to name a few off the top of my head.

The economy collapsed at a bad time for Jonquil and Belmont. To blast Smyrna on one hand for South Cobb being old and decrepit and then blast them for taking a risk and raising Belmont Hills and Jonquil Village for projects much grander and shinier is, well, words escape me... would Bi-polar work here?

Nobody wants to hear the truth about Smyrna.
It's no different than Bell, Ca.
A strongarm, overbearing city government w/ a very poor working class population.
