LOL, and vice versa! Why so personal? This is a subjective message/opinionated forum with all sorts of misinformation, bias and boosterism (includes U)...home-slice....with pockets of good stuff that seems to be useful.

You're definitely the most delusional booster, if someone post Charlotte's got 6 chickens, response is well, Atlanta has 12 dogs, goat and a mule......

This is quite interesting. A listing of the world's largest urban agglomerations:

GeoHive - Agglomerations over 750,000 from 1950 - 2025

That is the same as "Urban Area"....the criteria is contiguous developement at a density of 1,000 per square mile or more.

They make it look like Atlanta is getting crushed. We're way down there at 63, just barely ahead of cities like Houston, Boston and DC.

There are various metrics for counting people......all of which must essentially define where to stop counting people. The Urban area metric looks for continuous build up of at least 1000 per square mile. The MSA looks for commuting percentages 25% or higher to the principle city or county. The radius population ranks based upon comparable land areas in a circumference.

I don't understand the concern. In 2010, Atlantametro is in the same league as Houston, Boston, and DC metros. What is the concern?

Separate observation: It looks like they are not projecting any aggressive population growth for any of the US metros??

Well, that's true.

I have to agree you that Denver proper has a distinctive urban feel, although it's a different kind of city. For one thing, it's half again as populous as we are. Also, while I'm no an expert on this stuff, my personal opinion is that it benefits from being laid out on a grid with small blocks.
