The only time I've been mugged was also in broad daylight. I was exiting the Lexington Ave line at 59th, right there in front of Bloomingdale's. There must have been a 10,000 people coming and going. Just as I was coming up the stairs someone pushed me from behind and in an instant he'd grabbed my wallet and bolted off through the crowd. Several of us tried to catch him and he ran right by a cop, but it happened too fast.
It still makes me mad, however. I hope you'll give us a second try and that you have a hassle free visit. If I bump into you the drinks are on me!
