GT Undergrad Business Program Rises in Rankings Again (Atlanta: public school, college)

Per Business Week, up to #37 in the country and #13 public school in the country. "Georgia Tech placed 22nd in the Recruiter category and 33rd for Student Satisfaction. "

Emory #5 in 2012, Down 2 from 2011, Same rank as 2006 ranking
GT #37 in 2012, Up 13 from 2011, Unranked in 2006
UGA - # 50, Up 7 from 2011, Down 10 spots from 2006 ranking
Ga State - #123, Down 13 spots from 2011, Unranked in 2006

It is great to see GT's program continuing to improve and gain recognition. This is great for the city of Atlanta.

Yeah, my buddy got his there and just recently finished his PhD. We lived together back during his MBA and it was full of non-GT caliber kids with 4.0's from A-B schools. I was in the low 2's from GT so I probably don't have a shot.

Try the evening MBA program. There is a lot more latitude with their admissions. The same professors teach the evening program and it is really catered to those who are employed full time. The caliber of student is pretty good, but there is a wider range of intellect in the classes. I assume you would have a pretty good GMAT score which would help.

Remember, though, the longer you are way from your undergraduate graduation date along with successful, professional work experience--the less your undergraduate GPA really matters.

This is especially true with MBAs. And--remember, you also have to take the GMAT and will thus have some kind of score. If you are a stellar GT grad like I am, your score should be sky high--as it would be with most any standardized/admissions test.

Most grad schools know about GT's reputation--getting the high score GMAT score will only confirm what they already know.

Is it called an MBA or a Master's in Industrial Management or something like that, with more of an engineering slant? Just curious. Have a friend that has hers from Emory and it was pretty traditional.
