The Illinois lottery commission just started letting people buy lottery tickets online, do you think it would be a good idea for Georgia to do the same thing?

I emailed my state legislator saying that I think it would be a good idea if we added that service. I currently play the lottery once or twice a year but would play it more if I could buy the tickets online. I also think that more people may play and help put more money into the education system.

Do any of you guys think that it is a good idea?

It's a great idea.

Not only could more people buy tickets without going to the store, but there might be people from Georgia who have moved to other states that would like to continue buying Georgia lottery tickets. I'm sure we would get additional revenue from residents of states like Alabama, where there is no lottery.

I don't play the lotto. However, I went to school in Florida and my whole family lives there, and I sometimes will get a Florida lotto ticket while I'm there. It just feels more likely, and somehow cooler to play the Florida lotto. If there are people who feel that way about Georgia, what's the harm in giving them the chance to play?

In the meantime, Georgians who are too lazy to go buy lottery tickets can just go play the Illinois lottery online!

Not only do I think it's a bad idea, I think they should stop selling lottery tickets in person and I think the lottery executives should be sent to prison.

I am out of town in a non-Mega Million state and don't have a ticket for tonight! I also only play a few times a year but I would definitely being buying online right now if I could

Retailers will not be happy but this is the Internet age. It's all about e commerce. Look out for the domino effect, once one starts, all will follow. You will have to be in that state to buy online. IP address is what they will base permission on tickets online, besides clicking a box saying you're of age.

Sure, it's a good idea. I might actually buy one every once in a while.

What is this? If I don't buy lottery tickets, I am lazy? I must have missed the memo that stated there is a moral obligation to buy lottery tickets when I moved to GA. Sorry, but I think I will save my money rather than foolishly thinking I can win with such poor odds.
