Hey guys...

I'm moving to Atlanta in June and I'm looking to rent a 3-4 bedroom home around the $1000 - $1200 range (willing to pay more for the right area). Please advise the benefits of Marietta, Smyrna, Vinings and Roswell. What is the approximate cost of utilities?

I am a 30-something year old female who will be working in Marietta and would like to keep my commute to 20 minutes in traffic. However, I am open to a longer commute if there's a better area that offers what my family enjoys. We are a family of three looking for a diverse area with easy access to the highways, fitness clubs, Whole Foods, vegetarian friendly restaurants, swimming, tennis, bicycling, etc.

Thanks for your help!

There is no way to get from Marietta to John's Creek in 20 minutes. OP, stick to the East Cobb area. There is no reason to make your life more difficult by looking further.

For a family of 3, I would say Roswell.

You'll have everything you asked for. If you were a single woman, I would have said Vinings, but for a family, Roswell.

Marietta would be second, but I think you'll find Roswell a bit more upscale and refined with more outdoor recreation, wine sipping patios, etc.

How is the traffic in Roswell? I'm moving from Chicago and rush hour traffic can be a bit much.

Not sure about the 'exact" boundaries of E. Cobb, but it is roughly the Chattahoochee on the east, I-75 to the east and Cherokee county to the north. The reason I recommended E. Cobb is that it is closer to Marietta, so you will spend less time commuting. It also has some of good high schools. Walton, Wheeler,Lassiter Pope, & Sprayberry.
