Buckhead vs. Midtown - Young Professional Asian (Atlanta, Sandy Springs: to live in, suite)

Hi everyone,

I'm a young professional who has recently accepted an offer at a company in Buckhead. I was raised being very in touch with my Asian side, thus I want to live somewhere where it will be easy for me to make Asian friends, as I feel that we will have more in common, and participate in Asian activities. I know that Duluth has the most Asians but that's way too far to commute to work every day so that's out of the picture, especially with what I've heard about Atlanta traffic.

My questions right now are, which area, Buckhead or Midtown, or anywhere else nearby do you guys think would be most suited for me given the information I had just provided? Also, if I choose to live in Midtown rather than Buckhead, would the commute and the traffic in the mornings and afternoons be bearable?

I would say that you would be better suited for Buckhead.

Since your job is located in Buckhead, you should have no problem with the commute. Even if you choose Midtown, you could always take MARTA to Buckhead.

Both areas are diverse but I am sure you will find more Asians in Buckhead, in my opinion.

Checkout Sandy Springs and Chamblee as well. There are many Asians that live in both areas.

Asian activities? Look into Norcross... About 12 min drive to buckhead sans traffic for me.Midtown is a mixed bag, buckhead is very white and kind of old. Just being honest...
