I'm probably heading to Emory University to do my post-grad studies this fall and would just like to seek advice on moving to Atlanta. I'm a Chinese female and will probably be moving there alone. So safety is probably one of the top few items on my list. (I know there will be crime everywhere, but I will feel more comfortable in a relatively 'safer' neighborhood).

I'm looking at renting a 1-bedroom near Emory University which is served by the MARTA line or the Emory bus service as I am not planning to get a car (at least initially when I'm there). Actually, best if the apartment is within walking distance to the university.

I've been looking at some apartments and some recommended were Highland Square (1400 Briarcliff Rd), Clairmont Reserve (1575 Clairmont Rd. Decatur) and Post Briarcliff (500 Briarvista Way). Would like to find out more about the neighbourhood of these areas such as if there are eateries, hangout places near them.

Just a couple more queries - what is it like living in Atlanta (ie: the culture, lifestyle)?

Thanks in advance!

Your should take a look at Campus Crossings at Briarcliff. It's very convenient to walk to Kroger and to get bus service to Emory. The complex is almost brand new.

I was interested in Campus Crossings, until I realized a one bedroom single occupancy would cost 1000 bucks. Bleah.

But that's a furnished apartment, right?
