What do you think is the best intown neighborhood in Atlanta? Why? Are there a few that you think are the best for different reasons?

Peachtree Hills/ Peachtree Heights. The location is brilliant and I like the craftsman homes. Also, Jalisco and Eliclipse di luna are close by!

My vote is obvious - Inman Park

It was Atlanta's first planned community.

The festival is this weekend! Inman Park Festival | Inman Park Festival and Tour of Homes – April 27 – 29, 2012

We have lots of dining options. Inman Park Restaurant Week takes place twice a year. Inman Park Restaurant Week, Atlanta, Georgia

I can walk to a MARTA Station (E3)

Here are some wonderful images of the neighborhood. Historic Inman Park

Ansley/Morningside - no particular reason, just feels right for Atlanta. I also love Inman/Candler and the general vicinity as well.

Inman Park. The houses, trees, streets--everything is just beautiful. Public transit, close to shopping districts and great restaurants, good for any segment of the population.

I'm assuming Midtown (west of Piedmont) and Downtown aren't really part of this discussion--I'm thinking of SFH-oriented neighborhoods.

I love my neighborhood of Peachtree Hills.

Also, Midtown around 9th St and Virginia Highland are also really nice but you pay for it in those areas.

Close runner ups include Inman Park, Candler Park, and Cabbagetown.
