You have to wonder whether North Fulton will run out of ER at some point.

It would be nice to see these developers kick in a few coins for mass transit.

KDC has been tapped to help develop the office portion of the planned $400M Windward Park mixed-use development. KDC, along with Worthington Hyde Partners and Transwestern, is marketing an 8-acre parcel at the 48-acre site off Windward Parkway and Georgia 400 in North Fulton County for two 250K SF office buildings.

“The market is prime for build-to-suit development and interest is strong,” KDC Regional Vice President Alex Chambers said

Aside from the office buildings, Windward Park will have a full-service, 249-room Hilton hotel developed by Chartwell Hospitality, 200 condominiums, more than 190 townhouses developed by Lennar Corp. and a 31K SF retail village.

At least this project will next to an existing MARTA P&R lot with 2-way service. Of course that lot needs dedicated bus-only ramps from 400.

Looks like more multi-family for Cobb.

Childress Klein Properties — one of the largest commercial development firms in the Southeast with more than $1B in assets — is planning a 283-unit apartment project connected to the Galleria office park on a pad site originally slated for another office building.

The developer is currently seeking zoning approval to transform the office site into a $63M multifamily project being called Galleria 800 Apartments.

They could have gone for more density here, but cheers to Cumberland for creating a mixed use district.

I'm not totally clear on which parcel of land this would be getting built on. Is it the one immediately behind the Men's Warehouse and Chase Bank?

That's the only plot of land I think it could be. The article says the land is owned by the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations, and that lot is owned by INPO.

It's a 283-unit complex on 2.8 acres. Assuming 350 residents, that's an equivalent density of 80,000 per square mile. How much more dense do you want it? I mean, I guess you could go for residential tower.

This place will sell out immediately. If I were single, I'd probably seriously consider it. And I don't even work in Cumberland. But for the thousands who work in the Galleria area or along Cobb there...perfect location.

Not sure where the Vinings/Cumberland development thread is, but this famous/infamous large ITP parcel:

https://www.google.com/maps/@33.8581.../data=!3m1!1e3

...has now broken ground, or at least site preparations going on, and signage. Slated for 2019 completion. It has a name now, too. But I forgot it.

I think it's only townhomes, though. I think. I believe all the other stuff that was planned (hotel, office, retail), was all taken out of the plan due to local opposition (traffic concerns I guess). At one point it was to include a grocery store. Guess not.

But maybe some of that is still in. Guess we'll see.

Nvm, found the updated zoning:

Yeah, it's all townhomes and condos.

But still, good news that something is finally going there.

That looks really nice, primaltech! 16 units per acre is not bad for that location.
