Yeah, there's no way it's not going to be a really nice development, situated up on the hill as it is. The top floors of those condo buildings will have great Atlanta skyline views. Some of the townhomes might even, as well.

In other Vinings-area development news that I know of, there is planned to be a really nice Gables Vinings large mixed-use development in the Paces Ferry/Mt Wilkinson Overlook area (I believe everything was approved, but has not broken ground yet):

http://zoning.comdev.cobbcountyga.go...ry%20Road).pdf

Urban style apartments, townhomes, and 2 stories of retail next to the Hotel Indigo, with townhomes above. And loos like possibly a new connecting road. I am excited about the needed road connection down to Paces Ferry, actually. From Bert Adams. Hope that's not gated off.

On the other side of Hotel Indigo, at Overlook Pkwy, construction is wrapping up on a new Marriott Hotel.

And then meanwhile over at the Galleria, I just saw this preliminary zoning today, indicating that they want this long-empty spot at the Galleria:

...to become 282 apartments. It's at the top of this:

http://zoning.comdev.cobbcountyga.go...8%20Prelim.pdf

Not approved yet, I guess.

Hopefully not for long, finally.

...has now broken ground, or at least site preparations going on, and signage. Slated for 2019 completion. It has a name now, too. But I forgot it.

I think it's only townhomes, though. I think. I believe all the other stuff that was planned (hotel, office, retail), was all taken out of the plan due to local opposition (traffic concerns I guess). At one point it was to include a grocery store. Guess not.

But maybe some of that is still in. Guess we'll see.
Amazing. I lived around the corner from that parcel for over 15 years, and drove by it pretty much every day. I could never understand why it sat undeveloped for so long. Glad to see something finally moving forward there. And yes, I expect you're right about the pricing; the views of the skyline from there are second-to-none.

Across from that Galleria site, I wish they'd do something with this empty prime corner parcel at Akers Mill Square:

https://www.google.com/maps/@33.8814...7i13312!8i6656

Not sure who owns it, but I know the county GDOT used it last year to stage equipment for the Cobb Pkwy widening. But now it's just sitting there empty. Right on the corner.

Also I think the Men's Wearhouse/Chase Bank/Lasik is a bit out of place next to the Galleria, and should be replaced with something higher density, but that's a minor gripe.

I thought that lot had been construction storage for nearly a decade. But apparently, it was just about 4-5 years. That lot was developed in the late 60s, and had a business on it at least through the 90s. By 2002, it was empty. Now that it's empty again, I don't think it'll be long before it develops. More than likely a restaurant or other retail location...I think it's too small for residential or hotel usage.

I dare Childress Klein to do a large mixed-use development right here:

https://www.google.com/maps/@33.8860.../data=!3m1!1e3

Dense residential, retail, office space, and maybe a hotel.

They own that land. They've just been sitting on it, waiting. And everyone has always assumed it's going to be more boring office towers, but wouldn't it be awesome to go for residential. I know I'd love to have that really nice central Galleria courtyard area as the front yard of my apartment or condo.

And this surface parking lot should be like a restaurant or something:

The development is called 'Reverie'. Happened to drive by it again tonight.

Nice name.
