I hope it is, it serves them right. It would have made a fortune in Atlanta, I mean who the F goes to Charlotte? I agree also, crappy and redneck attraction. Fits Charlotte better anyway.

damn. they need to go back to the drawing board with that one. the previous design was beautiful. this? it looks closed off, unwelcoming and brutalistic.

WTF, the other design was so much prettier. This one is hard to tell by the aerial shot, is there one with a street view?

That aerial shot is useless. Nobody is going to see it from that vantage point except for people in upper floors of office buildings. I hope that's not the most impressive angle, because if it is we're going to have a real turd on our hands.

I am glad that they are building a project that will have no debt and be self-sustaining, but that design looks really bad from that angle. Perhaps it will looks better from the ground, but my initial reaction is quite negative. It looks closed off and kind of depressing.

I would think that they could come up with a better "scaled down" version.

I like this facility. It should be a worthy rival to Birmingham.

And with the streetcar, it'll a snap for tourists to zip over to the King Center, and then hop on the Beltline and cruise to the Carter Center. Talk about some heavyweight civil rights attractions.

Here's a pretty good article about the growth of new civil rights museums. It sounds like we're in the forefront!
