I am kind of craving a relaxing day by a pool. My neighborhood is not one of those HOA swim/tennis communities, and the public county pools don't seem all too nice (I'm in Cobb). It's times like this I really miss my old apartment complex!

Just wondering if anyone has any ideas or recommendations for me? Is there a hotel I could stay at for a night with a nice (outdoor) pool? How is White Water these days?

I wouldn't even mind a short weekend road trip if it meant access to a pretty pool. Something within an hour or two of Atlanta...

Thank you!

Get a complimentary 7 day membership to Lifetime Fitness and use their pool.

Or go to any hotel. Most pools are not key card controlled, only a very few are.

Gwinnett county also has a lot of aquatic centers with pools that are much nicer than you would expect from a county pool.

You can also look at the nice intown hotels. Since they are geared to business travelers, you can generally stay there for extremely little money on weekends if you use Priceline.

I second those. The Gwinnett Aquatic centers are great. It doesn't cost a lot to get in.

Well Jane, if you're single and attractive, you could come by my pool

Whitewater and "relaxing" don't go together very well- that place is a mess.....

Check out the W hotels. They have a summer program where non-guests can use thier pool (for a fee). I know the midtown w has something like that. other hotels might have similar programs.

I would third, however that comes with a caveat.... relaxing? The ones I have been too are kid magnets! They love it, but it can get loud and crowded.

You can also join a fitness center with a pool or the YMCA.

The other thing to consider.. it costs alot, but you can often join alot of neighborhood swim and tennis communities, especially in neighborhoods older than 15 years after the first wave of kids form that subdivision go off to college.

My area of Gwinnett was developed in the late 70 to early 90s and many of them are looking for people.

It would cost more, but it would last all summer long

So we are to invade hotel pools without being guests? I rate this post negatively.

Sure you have a friend who lives in an apartment complex that has a pool, or a co-worker who has a friend who lives in an apartment complex that has a pool

Thank you all for the suggestions! I don't have kids, and I'm kind of at the stage in my life where I don't know a ton of people living in apartments anymore (not close enough to ask to crash their pool anyway.)

I will check some of these places out!
