It feels better today compared to yesterday to me.

Nashville has slightly more temp extremes, I believe, than Atlanta, but not by much (few degrees). I think Nashville's all time high is now 109 according to the news. Overall, though, the temps in Nashville and Atlanta are mostly similar. Nashville might get a bit more snow than Atlanta, but I would have to google that to find out for sure. I had to run some errands today that I couldn't avoid and just got back (car repairs and getting groceries). It definitely felt hot fast, like one of those dog-day heavy humidity summer weather we usually have throughout all of July and August. I felt bad for the mechanics having to work out in the heat or anyone else for that matter. 106 is probably the hottest temp I have ever experienced in my life and I am from the Atlanta area.
I remember as a kid looking at the national weather report in the newspapers and Phoenix would often be over 110 or so.

Coolest joint in town
While the all-time record was being broken, I was basking in the wondrous coolness of the DeKalb Farmer's Market - man, it felt sooooo good in that place with their arctic air-conditioning. Had a delicious, low-cost meal at the cafe there and then took our sweet, sweet time trolling the cart around the entire market. We lingered for the longest time in the seafood and meat sections, inhaling some last few precious breaths of icy air in the dairy section. Came time to check out
, it felt a bit stuffy in the cashier area, but nothing could ever match the wall of blast-furnace heat that greeted us when we exited the Temple of Coolness. It was a real shock to the system, to say the least.
Perhaps I'll just have to go back there again tomorrow to pick up the items I "forgot"....lol.

We're having storm fronts out here. It's not that ironic, though. It's happened before, but this might be the first time in recent history that Atlanta beat us to a higher temp. The highest we've had so far is like 103, I think, and that was certainly uncommon for this time of year.

Y'all are going to think I'm crazy, but it just wasn't that hot to me today. I mean, it was hot, but I don't think it was blazing. I spent all day with some beer and the pool. However, at lunch I sat out at the covered patio and I was fine. It's hot, but the humidity is low. That's what always gets me.

Coolest joint in town
, it felt a bit stuffy in the cashier area, but nothing could ever match the wall of blast-furnace heat that greeted us when we exited the Temple of Coolness. It was a real shock to the system, to say the least.
