I'm voting yes because, even though it is far from perfect, this small step will change Atlanta for ever.
-Transit access in the City proper will be at a level it should be at.
-It'll be first real move in to mass transit in to the burbs outside of Dekalb and North Fulton
-It will provide real traffic relief and reorgination in the burbs
And last but not least...
-This will be a huge shot in the arm to our local economy. Someone is going to have to build all of this stuff if this bill passes. These people will have to be paid.
It is interesting what the results are here, because they are very different that the lastest polling. At best, if every undecided voter decided to vote yes, it would be a 50 50 split, but support is weakening. I did not realize until recently that there are counties (Fayette, at least) that would have rather not been part of metro Atlanta.

Voted YES! Major interchange work at the worst bottlenecks and transit running on the BeltLine. Finally starting to see advertisement on MARTA for the TIA.

Thank goodness this poll does not reflect actual poll numbers in the real world.
This program is nothing but waste fraud and abuse in the making to benefit roadbuilding and related corporations.
Our traffic isnt that bad to begin with although the millions being spent to make you think otherwise neglect to mention what years of torn up roads and lanes sealed off with safe-t-drums will be like. But even if it did improve traffic eventually, by the time they get done with it all, congestion will be just as bad in other areas thanks to endless uncontrolled development and growing population. Then guess who will want more money?
This proposal does nothing to solve the problem of how to get people to use transit or alternate means of transportation. Instead it kicks the can down the road enabling more wasteful single occupant vehicles and dependence on cars.
This tax will most impact low income individuals, many of which dont use cars and will not see any benefit.
I wish those of you who currently support this to look in to whos pushing this down our throats and think critically about why they want it passed and do you deep down honestly believe this is going to be a real solution for commuters and road travelers?

The TIA will most defiantly help the citizens of Clayton County, as it will fund buses again. Eventually Clayton County commissioners need to put the MARTA tax vote to the citizens so they can approve a binding agreement with MARTA and get rail down there.
