Customer management outsourcing firm Alorica Inc. plans to add more than 1,000 new jobs in Kennesaw, Ga., by the end of the year. The company said the majority of openings are for customer service representatives. Some jobs are to fill seasonal vacancies, others will be permanent.

It will have a job fair July 21 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Alorica facility at 1000 Cobb Place Boulevard in Kennesaw. Chino, Calif.-based Alorica bought Kennesaw-based call-center firm Ryla in April 2010 for $70 million. It currently employs 1,200.

Whatever they pay, it'll be better than unemployment, especially if there is any sort of benefits package.

True, but we need more high paying jobs here.

Call center jobs even today can be as low as $8.50 an hour to start, though typically they average around $10 an hour starting out. I have heard of them being as high as $12.50 per hour, but that's not as common. Most of the places do offer at least basic benefits after 90 days. Remember, they're competing with Indian and South American call centers now - pay isn't what it used to be (and even in the past it wasn't "great").

I did a search on here for Alorica and found this thread. I live in CA and worked at Alorica. They paid 9.00hr. BUT, they also have a bad reputation for hiring hundreds of people, because they also fire tons of people. They never give raises and yes, I know working for a call center a lot of times involves a numbers game and basically, you are set up to fail in at least a few areas. Call handle time they want to be 7 minutes or less, yet if a customer has issues with their phone, billing, etc....then sure, you could cut them off, but then you havent met FCR...and a possibility of failing a survey, which you can also get written up for. My personal experience was not good with Alorica.....I was there almost 2 years and for all the good verbatim surveys I received, never got any positive feedback for, but ALWAYS was hearing negative comments and I am sorry, but in order to have a successful business, positive feedback is a MUST! Just another opinion here....

This is true but there are a few companies that pay a little more, however you won't find that in the outsourced 3rd party call centers such as this one.
