They're calling the London Olympic mascots "scary" and "creepy" and "just plain strange" -- yet another reason why "Izzy" and the Atlanta Games weren't such abject failures after all!

With all the security breaches and lousy weather and last-minute prep fears and transportation woes, Atlanta's Games might be finally redeemed after all!!!!

In reality, yes (especially when the passenger traffic on the 150+ year old Tube is increased 3 fold) but in general perception probably not. It'll be just like how Atlanta is the only city with suburban sprawl and bad traffic.

But I'm hoping an error free Games since I see the Olympics as a time for the nations of the world to put their differences aside and to come together as one to celebrate pushing the human form to the highest achievable level. It's a time for camaraderie, heroics, and petty differences just distract from...

...what the {censored} are these things?!

God save the Queen, indeed.

Sort of like "pick your poison".

Springy is definitely an improvement.

Hmmm, I'm not sure about that. Atlanta completely ruined the chances of any other US city hosting the games for a very long time! The Olympic committee is still mad about how things were run in '96. That's not exactly a towering achievement..

But I agree that springy wins the gold!

'Most exceptional' Olympics still an undefined legacy | Juneau Empire - Alaska's Capital City Online Newspaper!
Did you even read that story? Besides, another American city will get the Summer Games again. It'll just be a while given we had two in the span of 12 years.
