Hi,
My husband and I currently live in Brookhaven in Cambridge Park. We are considering the East Cobb area because of the schools and amenities (swim/tennis/bigger houses for the price).
I was curious:
*What is the commute like from East Cobb to Perimeter mall area? My husband works in the Terraces building. He can leave early by 6:30 or 7:00 a.m. Will this help at all or is it a nightmare no matter when you leave?
*We are looking to spend no more than $500,000 and have a baby so interested in getting into a neighborhood with families and young children. A friend recommended we look at areas south of Lower Roswell road. Interested as to whether this is a good idea and also in suggestions on possible neighborhoods to look at.
*At a high level, we are thinking Pope and Walton high school districts....

Thanks in advance!

Depends on where in East Cobb you are- the worst part of the commute can sometimes be getting to the highway. 6:30 would be better than 7, and 6am would be even better still. What time will he be leaving the office in the afternoon to head home?

His company is somewhat flexible so he could leave around 4:00 or so if that would mean a better commute. I assume that 5:00 is the worst?

4 is usually fine- 5 to 6 is more painful. I work 6:30-4, so I miss all the traffic in the morning, and avoid most of it in the afternoon.

I live off of Papermill Rd in E.Cobb and commute to Perimeter. I leave home at 7:00 am and can be in the office in less than 20 min 95% of the time. My evening commute usually starts out ~4:30 pm and takes 25-30 min.

I saw your question about daycare options in another thread. We use KidsZone (Johnson Ferry/Papermill) and have been very happy so far.
