We have so much stuff going on around Atlanta that it's easy to lose track of, I thought it'd be cool if we had a thread to keep track of all the major projects going on and keep everyone updated. Here's what I know of so far:

Skyscrapers:

-12th & Midtown is nearing completion with the final piece being 77 12th Street. Here's an article on it:

-Skyhouse has gone up really fast, it's less than a half mile down 12th Street from the above building. Here's an article on it:

-100 6th Street has had the plans released and is being built by Novare, the same company that's building Skyhouse:

Fun Stuff:

The College Football Hall Of Fame is relocating to Atlanta:

It

National Monuments and Museums:

-The National Center for Civil and Human Rights broke ground about a month ago— it will complete Pemberton Place in Downtown, right next to the Aquarium. This is a major deal to have such an important center located in our city. Not only a museum, it will have an active role in social issues around the globe much like the Carter Center:

Slight correction. This is not the final piece of the 12th & Midtown development. They have at least 2 more buildings planned - one office and one residential. Of course it could be some time before they move forward especially the office building.

Here's a virtual animation of 77 12th.

I'll be glad to see this project get underway, but I have never understood why it is has aroused more furor than the Arts Center Pit, the North Avenue Pit, the 10th Street Pit or any of the other numerous pits that have been sitting idle since the real estate crash. Some of them have been staring at us even longer.

Why, its about to finally be realized!?

Lets not forget Ponce City Market at the old City Hall East.

Also about like 6 apartment complexes in Old 4TH ward, Inman Park, and West Midtown areas. Dont have specifics but all over Atlanta Business Chronicle.
